Busy Week

Hello

I have had such a busy week - I miss it when I have so little time to make cards! Thank goodness for weekends.

For this card I used an old sketch from Unity's WCMD Sketch Challenge.

The first layer is embossed with Tim Holtz's woodgrain folder and the white circle is embossed with the Sizzix stars folder. The sentiment is from PTI and the butterfly from Amy Butler. I also used Japanese masking tape for the two horizontal stripes.

Happy Monday

Happy start of the week everyone!

I could not resist this weeks challenge over at Wee Memories. Challenge #28 is to make a project with the theme "Cute Holidays".

This little mouse stamp is from Art Impressions and the sentiment stamp is from A Muse. I inked the edges of the paper with Antique Linen distress ink, added stitching and a silk ribbon.

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments you have been leaving me. They are truly appreciated :)

DT Goodness

Boy, these Sunday's seem to roll around faster and faster! (Only 8 weeks left of school before I am on holidays! Yay!)

Ange and Joy have some amazing cards to share with you today.

This is another fun card Ange made, again using Lawn Fawn's 'Just My Type' set. That paper pieced phone is so cute! And she added my favourite Twine!

Joy has also used a set from Lawn Fawn. This is a little set sold as a single stamp called 'Winter Bunny'. Isn't he cute? And notice that background? - Japanese masking tape! Another fun card.

Didn't I tell you these girls are fabulous!

My card today is a CAS card that would be easy to reproduce. Both the little houses and the sentiment are from A Muse and I used lots of glitter for the snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

PS. Lots of things happening in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the blog.

Cuteness!

Its Friday, yay!

I think I have gone Christmas mad, but I love making Christmas cards! I have this stamp from Inkadinkado of this really cute little bear and I thought he would look adorable wearing a Santa hat. What do you think?

I used my new spiral notebook page die from Papertrey Ink, some distress ink, patterned paper, a button and of course bakers twine.

I'm entering this card into For Fun Challenges. The challenge this week is to create a card/project using the colors “RED, BROWN and CREAM”.

This card also qualifies for Wee Memories Challenge # 27 which is 'Celebrate Good Times' and Tuesday Throwdown # 22, Anything Goes.

Phew!

Hero Arts

Monday again, 'sigh'. Were does the weekend go?

Last night I felt all creative and made a card using Hero Arts stamps. For once this card came together really easily, it usually takes me hours to make a card, even when they are really simple! And I have to say, I like this card. I think it turned out well (just is case no one else tells me that, she says tongue in check).

I started by stamping the snowflakes on white cardstock and embossing them in white. I then used Broken China distress ink to colour the card. I hand pieced the snowman, and then the hat and scarf on top of him. Added a tag and yummy bakers twine.

I am entering this card in the Christmas Stamping All Year Long Challenge #67.

Thanks for looking.

Love My DT

Hello everyone!

Today I have some more inspiration for you from my fabulous design team. I am loving these girls!

Joy's card today is simple perfection! It's the little finishing touches she adds that really make this card. All stamps are from A Muse and the twine is from The Twinery.

Today Ange is using Just My Type from Lawn Fawn. I love the way Ange has used the other stamps in the set to make her background paper. This is great for a masculine card.

For my cards today, I decided to use Practicing Creativity's Christmas Wonder set again. For a sentiment set, it has a lot of versatility. On both cards I tried the 'distress ink stamp block' technique from Jennifer McGuires' Thinking Inking Week 2 class. I don't have a very big stamp block so I hunted around and found a sugar bowl in the kitchen that had a flat bottom and inked that up. I then cut the circle out using my Spellbinders and stamped the snowflakes and 1st part of the sentiment. The small snowflake comes with the Christmas Wonder set.

The big words in this sentiment set are easy to colour in for a different look. To finish I added some rhinestones and a glittered snowflake.

My stamp block just managed, with a little maneuvering, to cover this tag. It's a little hard to see in the photo but just above the letter C, I stamped the flourish from the set in VersaMark ink. I paper pieced the holly (also in the set) and added red rhinestones and of course some bakers twine to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Remember to visit Joy and Ange's blogs for more details of their cards.

Lots Of Patterned Paper

Hello! Hope everyone is well.

I made a card for The Lollipop Ladies Challenge #6, which was strawberries and cream. I decided to focus on the colours, red and white/cream.

I don't have a lot of patterned paper, I usually only use it for small paper pieced things. But strawberries and cream are so summery and I thought this Cosmo Cricket paper fit the mood.

I lightly inked the edges with Distress Ink and added some sewing. The stamped image is from PTI's Baby Button Bits and the red felt is also from PTI.

I am also entering this card in the Just Inspirational Challenge #16 which is Anything Goes.

Have a lovely weekend.

Crazy 4 Challenges

Hello!

Just a quick post today. I needed to make a birthday card for a friend and decided to enter it into Crazy 4 Challenges C4C58. This is a very girly card - hope you like pink!

For the cupcake I used a PTI stamp and lots of glitter :) The tag is the spellbinders Fancy Tag and I lightly inked everything with distress inks. Lastly, I added some pink bakers twine from The Twinery.

Thanks for looking.

Design Team Post

Hello everyone. It's time for another DT post and Ange and Joy have again made stunning cards for you to feast your eyes on. These girls are just so super talented!

First up we have Ange, who is again using My Beach House from Practicing Creativity.

This card is very different from last weeks and really shows the versatility of this set. I just adore the patterned paper and that banner!

Joy is also showing a set from Practicing Creativity this week called, Key to My Heart.

Love the argyle pattern and all the little touches on this one. It's a beautiful card.

Remember to check out their blogs for all the details.

I have a friend who wanted me to make some cards for her children, so I decided to play with Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Sea. This set is full of fun little characters.

First up we have this adorable little Octopus. I cut out the waves from A Muse gingham paper using decorative scissors and paper pieced the little octopus, slipping him just in between the waves. The background cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebugs D'vine Swirls folder. A little sentiment and bling to finish it off.

On this next card I used my new felt and dies from PTI. I paper pieced the whale and stamped the waves and sentiment - all included with this set.

Lastly this Happy Birthday card. I am terrible at colouring, so for the dolphin I used Jennifer McGurie's technique from her Thinking Inking class. I used Distress Inks to colour and it was really easy. I added a little party hat and embossed the background with Cuttlebugs Tiny Bubbles folder. The patterned paper is something I had in my stash (no name). The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I added the yummy bakers twine from The Twinery.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day.

The Lollipop Ladies Challenge

Happy Friday, yay!

Wow, the first week back at work (after holidays) is hard!! But I did manage to find a little time to make a card for The Lollipop Ladies Challenge #5: Candy Stripes for Christmas.

I love this Santa stamp from A Muse. I coloured him with copics, (don't look too closely at that part :)), paper pieced his hat and added a little rhinestone. The oval stamps, sentiment and cardstock are all from A Muse. The candy stripe paper was just a scrap I had.

Remember to drop by on Sunday for the Design Team post.

New Design Team!

I am so excited about today's post! Grab a cuppa - it's a long one :)

I thought it was about time I put together a little Design Team for Jay Gee's Nook, with the idea that each Sunday we will 'show case' different products that are available in the shop. I am so delighted and honored that these two ladies have agreed to be a part of this team with me. Lets meet these fabulous ladies shall we.

I live in a small town, in Southern New South Wales with my partner Darryl and our furbaby, Roly. I currently work part time, but like all us crafters would love to see my passion for the craft to turn into my daily job…oh to dream!

I have been crafting, especially stamping on and off, for about 16 years now and absolutely love it. Although I love all crafts, stamping is my passion, I love to create and have fun with the craft, lear
ning new techniques as I go along.

Just recently my partner allowed me to take ownership of one of the spare rooms that we have in our house and he has custome built all of my craft furniture. I love that I have everything at my finger tips and can come and go as I please; it really is my little haven and I adore my space.

I currently design for a company in New York and just recently Judith asked if I would like to try out designing for her. I have to say that I am thrilled and honoured to be asked, I am excited and looking forward to the venture ahead.

So please join me on my journey with Jay Gee's Nook.

I have been addicted to all things paper since I went to my first 'Stampin Up' demo when my oldest son was in 4yr old kinder. That was about 5 yrs ago. I have been married to the most kind and generous man for nearly 10 years. We live in Melbourne, Australia with our 2 boys, Calum 9 and Liam 6.

These girls are so talented. Please visit their blogs and leave them a comment :)

And now for some cards. We are show casing stamps from two awesome companies today - Lawn Fawn and Practicing Creativity. Remember to click on the Designers' name to see all of the details of their cards.

Joy's card is so cute, I love how she has made a little scene. That cat looks so satisfied doesn't it!

Ange's card is amazing. I never would have thought of using the rope as a frame for the card.

Both cards I am showing you today use a set called Christmas Wonder from Practicing Creativity. This set is perfect for those pepole that like big sentiments.

I embossed my cardstock with Cuttlebug's Star folder and lightly sanded it. Because this A Muse cardstock has a white core (red one side, white the other) the white shows through giving it a distressed look.

I like the colour combination of this next card. Purple may be a non-traditional colour for Christmas, but I think it works. I paper pieced the partridge and added some stitching.

Wow! If you are still with me after all that, I thank you. Enjoy your day.

Jay Gee
