2011 Hero Arts Stamps!

Guess what?

I have just finished loading new 2011 Hero Arts stamps into the shop! There really are some beautiful stamps - I couldn't justify keeping them all for myself.

Love new stamps!

CPS

Hi fellow bloggers.

Just wanted to pop in and share a card I made for the latest CPS Challenge - 2010 Year in Review. For this challenge you could use any sketch from the past year, I chose sketch #197.

The bee image and patterned paper are from PTI. For the sentiment I used Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABS's. I hand cut the felt heart and added a button and some bling.

Hope you have a lovely day.

Repeat Impressions CASE Challenge

Hello!

How are you all? If your anything like me, you are feeling happy but still stuffed and could probably live off your leftovers for a week! :)

I wanted to play along with the Repeat Impressions D22 CASE Card Challenge today. Here is the card we had to CASE.

I made a very CAS version using stamps from Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine set and some Cosmo Cricket paper. The naughts and crosses were hand drawn.

Having A Play

Wow, only 3 more sleeps! I love Christmas.

So I spent some time in my craft room just playing today and this is the result. Used lots of distress ink on this card - not what I had envisioned but that's what makes it fun. Sometimes things work out and other times... not so much.

On a different note, Lynn and Brandi tagged me for a fun List of Fours... so here goes.

1. Four shows that you watch:

  • Glee
  • White Collar
  • The Closer
  • Law & Order

2. Four things you are passionate about:

  • My family
  • Card making
  • Food
  • Mail – I just love getting packages in the mail. Even when I buy for the shop and the goods are NOT for me, I feel like someone is sending me presents!

3. Four words/phrases you say a lot:

  • I Love You
  • James !!!
  • I don't think so
  • Sit down (often say this to students at school)

4. Four things you've learned from the past:

  • When you teach High School you have to have a sense of humor.
  • Have no regrets.
  • Never leave without saying, “I Love You”
  • When dealing with teenagers you have to have a thick skin.

5. Four places you would like to go:

  • Egypt
  • Greek Islands
  • CHA craft show
  • Skiing

6. Four things you did yesterday:

  • Made a card
  • Went to the Post Office
  • Did some Christmas shopping
  • Played ‘Taxi’ for my son (meaning I drive him around to work, movies etc)

7. Four things you are looking forward to:

  • The rest of my Christmas holidays
  • Christmas morning
  • My son getting his drivers licence
  • Being able to give up work (an impossible dream)

8. Four things you love about winter: (Living in Townsville, Australia I am going to change this and say ‘Summer’)

  • Christmas
  • 5 weeks holiday – schools out!
  • Shorts and t-shirts
  • Rain (it's our rainy season - humidity here is REALLY high so the rain helps to cool things down)

9. Four people I tag to play along (no worries if you pass :)!!

This is the last DT post for 2010 - the girls are having a well deserved break. We will be back on the 9th January with a new challenge and DT post.

Lets see what the girls have been up to this week!

Joy has made a cute little Christmas card using Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Snow set and she finished it off with my favorite embellishment - bakers twine.

Ange made two cards today, both using Everyday Prints by Practicing Creativity. The first is a sweet 'Love You' card and with the second she creates a completely different look.

My card today uses Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine set and some Cosmo Cricket paper.

Lucy showed her technique for adding glitter to cards and I used this for my pears. The end result resembles a puffy epoxy sticker.

I also used Repeat Impression D8 CASE Card Challenge for the inspiration for my card - I just flipped the layout.

Well I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and manage to find some crafty time in your busy schedules.

Repeat Impressions

Happy Friday! I hope all your Christmas preparations are coming along nicely.

I decided to enter the Repeat Impressions Sketch #D1510 challenge today.

I made a few adjustments here and there :)

I used Antique Linen distress ink to stamp the Hero Arts music background onto my two pieces of cardstock. I added some ribbon to hide the join. The adorable booties stamp is from Stampabilities and the sentiment was made by combining two PTI stamps.

Remember you still have a few hours left to enter our current challenge. We have had some amazing entries so far. You will find the link on the side bar.

Have a wonderful day.

DT Post

Hello. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

I now everyone is very busy so I will get straight into it. You still have time to enter the current challenge - 6 days left. We would love you to join in, you can find the link on the sidebar.

Today Ange has decided to bring a little bit of sunshine to us all. It is supposed to be summer here in Australia, but some parts of the country have not seen much sun lately. Ange is using a set from Lawn Fawn called Judy's Blooms. It's such a beautiful, cheerful card.

My Favorite Things make the most adorable stamps with their Pure Innocence range. Joy has used Snow Day for her gorgeous card. It really is stunning. Make sure you check out Joy's blog, because as an added bonus, she has made a video showing how she created this card.

I made a very simple card today using Practicing Creativity's 'You're Dandy' set.

I inked my stamps with different distress inks and then spritzed them with water and stamped on watercolour paper. I cut the image out using Spellbinders Label 4 die and distressed the edges while the die was still in place, leaving a white edge around the image. The green background was stamped with Hero Arts Graph Background and then I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the side.

Remember to check out the girls blogs and leave them some love. Thanks for dropping by :)

I'm On Holidays!!

I don't mean to rub it in (sorry Joy), but... I'm on holidays. Five blissful weeks of no work! Which hopefully means lots and lots of creating time, yay!

So to start of just right I made a card. I am loving Tim Holtz's 12 Days of Christmas Tags this year and decided to play with one of the techniques he used.

This is such a simple yet effective technique. I stamped my teddy bear image and then used distress inks to colour the white card stock. Then I stamped the Hero Arts Old Letter Writing on top, sprinkled with water drops and dried with my heat gun. Next I distressed the edges, added some ribbon, a cute little rattle from PTI and a tag with a rub on sentiment.

I am playing along with CASE Study Challenge #18, which was to case this card by Nina Brackett.

I hope all your Christmas preparations are coming along nicely and you are not too stressed. Have a fun weekend.

Off The Wall Craftiness

Happy Monday everyone. I am super happy today as this is my last week of work before having 6 weeks holiday! Can't wait.

I decided to make a card for Off the Wall Craftiness challenge #36.

I love these colours, but couldn't resist adding just a splash of red.

The flower stamp I used is from Amy Butler, the sentiment is a TPC stamp and the background is Hero Art's Old Letter Writing. I added a Martha Stewart punched butterfly, some brown bling, bakers twine and distress inks.

I also wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments you have been leaving - I truly appreciate it.

Sunday DT Goodies

Hello. Welcome to another DT post.

A couple of things before we get started. New in store today are some beautiful handmade buttons from Jane's Doodles. Quantities of these buttons is very limited, so grab them while you can.

Remember to enter our current challenge, it is open to everyone and you could win a fabulous stamp set from Lawn Fawn. Details can be found here.

Right, onto some yummy inspiration!

Ange has made the most adorable Christmas card using a Pure Innocence stamp 'Presents For You' from My Favorite Things. Notice also that fabulous doily - that is a Die-namics, also from MFT.

Next is another stunner from Joy! She has used a combination of different Lawn Fawn stamp sets here - 'Critters in the Snow', 'Frosties' and 'Bows & Holly'.

Here in Australia we end the school year for Christmas. Being a teacher myself, I can tell you how much we appreciate all the thank you cards and gifts the children give us (although now that I am High School we don't get many :) ). So when I saw the cute apple in Lawn Fawn's new set 'My Silly Valentine', a teacher thank you card immediately came to mind.

I teamed it up with another Lawn Fawn set, 'Harold's ABC's'. I randomly stamped the background with different letters from the set and also used them to spell out my sentiment. Added a little distress ink and some ribbon, simple.

Hope we have inspired you in some way today. Thanks so much for dropping by.

Let It Snow

Wow! December all ready. Can you believe that!!

I made another card for Wee Memories Challenge #33, which is to use ribbon. This card uses two different ribbons, some yummy crinkled seam binding and some vintage lace ribbon.

I also used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass for the skates. Has anyone else used this product before? I would love to know how you attached it to your card/page. I had a few problems with that :) I painted the back of the skates and then distressed them so that they would show up better and ended up using glossy accents to glue them on. They didn't want to stick though.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps.

Thanks for dropping by. Enjoy your day/evening.
