Hi There

I just have a quick share today... am off to work and forgot to post this last night :)

I made another card for the current CASE Study Challenge - Iwona just has so many wonderful cards I could not stop at one. This is the card I cased.

The script stamp on the inside of the circle is Hero Arts 'Old Letter Writing' and the flower is PTI 'In Bloom'. The sentiment is a sneak at a new Jane's Doodles set to be released soon.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day :)

Design Team Cards

Hello everyone. It's a beautiful sunny day here in Townsville, so I am busy doing lots of laundry - yeah for me! (would much rather be doing something fun).

We have had some truly amazing entries into this months challenge. If you have not played yet, you still have time - just click on the image on the sidebar to be taken to the challenge post.

Lets have a look at some fabby cards by the design team.

Ange has made another gorgeous card perfect for our current challenge. The lovely stamped background, the focal label and sentiment all come from Hero Arts/Basic Grey's 'Sweet Threads Labels' set. I think I need to get myself some of that wonderful ribbon!

Joy's fabulous, earthy card uses one of my favourite stamps from A Muse - 'Marigold'. (These are all on special at the moment). I love the look of distressing she created on the woodgrain embossed paper.

I love, love this design by Angeline! The placement of all her elements is just perfect. The gorgeous stamps are from Hero Arts/Basic Grey 'Carte Postage'. Aren't those little square buttons cute.

This week I am playing along with CASE Study Challenge #53, which is to case a card by Iowna (Chupa). For anyone familiar with Iowna's work, you will know how amazingly talented she is. A visit to her blog is a real treat and you will be spoiled for choice! I have cased this card (the second card).

The houndstooth border is from Practicing Creativity's 'Retro Christmas Backgrounds' - the border itself is a die-namics die 'Simply Scallops Medium'. The deer is coloured in copics and is from Lawn Fawn's 'Critters in the Snow'.

I hope you enjoyed you visit... have a wonderful day :)

Exciting News!

Hello there.

I was super excited earlier this week when I saw this post by the amazing Karen Baker. She is starting a new and unique challenge called 'carbon copied'. For her first challenge Karen teamed up with the lovely Lynn and they featured Jay Gee's Nook challenge - wow, talk about being thrilled. If you haven't had a look yet, pop on over to Karen's blog and sign up to play.

But that's not all...

I have more exciting news. I would like to introduce a new Design Team member to Jay Gee's. She is incredibly talented, her style is CAS - very elegant and stylish CAS - and she has been published no less than 27 times this year! Please help us welcome the fabulous Angeline Yong Jeet Leen.

Right, lets look at some cards.

Angeline has used a set from Practicing Creativity called 'For the Love of Dots'. I would never have thought to use this set to make Christmas ornaments - gorgeous and brilliant!

Next is another beautiful card from Ange, who has used 'Stems & Grass' from Purple Onion Designs. I love the soft, earthy colour palette of this card with the punch of turquoise.

Joy has created another swoon worthy card, using my favourite gingham paper. The gorgeous flower is a stamp from 'Layered Flowers' and the sentiment is from 'Sending Smiles Messages' - both sets are from Hero Arts.

I really had fun making my card. I took this little Pure Innocence stamp 'Don't Open Until', coloured her with copics and masked off the present. I thought she looked like she was waiting for someone so I put her in a window frame, which I got from Google images. I then cut a couple of 'Leafy Flourish's' from die-namics which I twined around the window. The sentiment is from 'Find Joy', from Hero Arts.

Well, thanks for visiting... have a fabulous day.

Merry Christmas!

Hello.

Thank you very much for all your lovely comments on my last post. I am happy to report that the old leg is none the worse for wear and even has a few hairs left on it!

I received a new stamp (well old, but new to me) the other day and wanted to ink it up straight away. It's such a fun stamp I couldn't resist and Simon Says' current challenge is Christmas in August.

I extended the length of the chimney, coloured it with copics and then went over the top with distress inks. The background is also coloured with distress inks and both the image and sentiment are from Hero Arts.

This card also fits with the current challenge at AUD Sentiments which is to use 'Merry Christmas' somewhere on your project.

Have a great week :)

Ouch!

Hi there.

I have not posted this week as I had a wee crafting accident... and let's just say that the four letter word I used was not ouch! Warning: long story ahead, you may skip to the cards without offending me :)

I was having a go at the 'cracked glass' technique, but did not have any Utee so was using clear embossing powder instead. For those of you who may not know this technique you basically cover your piece (in this case a flower) in embossing powder, heat, which makes the powder sticky, dip it into your powder again and repeat the process several times. When the piece is cool you have a nice thick layer of gloss, you bend the piece and cracks appear. Anyway, I was on about my 5th layer and was heating the flower with my heat gun... I must have tipped the gun at the wrong angle and my flower flew off the table! Now if this has every happened to you before, you can probably guess what happened next. My lovely flower landed on my thigh... HOT, STICKY SIDE DOWN ON MY BARE THIGH!! Well, of course I jumped up trying to pull the stupid thing off (damn it was hot!) only to find it was stuck to the hairs of my leg. I finally managed to get it off, but was left with a sticky residue which I had to peel off (did you ever cover you hand with PVA glue as a kid, wait for it to set and then peel if off - it looked liked skin?) So, crafting abandoned, I retreated to the couch with an ice pack for the rest of the evening. LOL, it must have looked so funny!

Enough of my saga... let's see some cards.

Ange's card this week is so lovely. She has used the Hero Arts/Basic Grey set 'Sweet Threads Labels', and the little flower on the side is from Hero Arts/Basic Grey 'Luscious Patterned Flowers'. Great design and perfect bling placement - love it!

Joy sure does know how to create a cute card and her colouring is always so wonderful. The delightful image is from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence. Love this little scene :)

I had fun making my card using Hero Arts/Basic Grey's set 'Life of the Party Birthday'. I actually used the cone from the smaller ice cream and coloured with copics. The chocolate sauce is covered in glossy accents - it does not show up in the photo. The background is another Hero Arts stamp, 'Music Background', which I stamped with Pumice Stone distress ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)
