Hi There

Welcome to another EAD Designs Blog Hop.

If you have come from the lovely Jessica's blog then you are on the right track. If you would like to start the hop from the beginning, go to the EAD Designs blogRemember to comment along the hop - there is free vinyl every week!

One of the wonderful things about EAD Design stickerz, is that they are transparent - so when you place them on top of patterned paper. you get this...

All the gorgeous paper I have used is from My Minds Eye and I distressed the edges with Antique Linen. I just love this wonderful dress form image, which is from the Vintage Treasures Stickerz.

For the sentiment I used the Co-branded Paper Smooches Thank You Sentiments stickerz.

Ok, it's time to hop along to see what wonders await on Julie's blog today :) Have fun on the hop.

A Winner, Some Cards and Some News...

Hi there.

I have the winner of Challenge #16, thank you to everyone who took the time to enter :) The winner is:

True Random Number Generator
Min: 1
Max: 34
Result: 34
Powered by RANDOM.ORG

It's Tracy!!!!

Congratulations Tracy. Please email me and I will send your prize out to you. Next week we will start a new challenge.

Ok... I am very sad to share the news that this week will be Joy's last with Jay Gee's Nook, she is stepping down from the Design Team due to family commitments :(  Joy has been with me from the beginning and I truly appreciate everything she has done for the shop and me personally - she has been a true friend. I will miss being able to show her fabulous creations and wonderful talent each week. With any luck, we might be able to entice her back at a later stage :)

This stunning card from Joy uses the 'Large Flower Background' from Hero Arts - the colouring on this is just gorgeous.

 Joy

Iwona has a fabulous CAS card to share today, using this fabulous stamp 'Citrus Set' from Purple Onion Designs - it has several fun sentiments that go with the set.

And here is another fabulous CAS card from Angeline using Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches 'Pretty Phrases'. I love how she has added colour and split the sentiment.

Ange's gorgeous card uses the adorable Miss Mia stamp from Jane's Doodles and some beautiful papers from My Minds Eye. The colours on this card are really fabulous.

My card is one of those, "I'm not sure if I like this" cards... I think there is too much paper! I go a little cross eyed when I look at this and see diagonal lines, LOL.

I used 'Faith the Chicken' from Purple Onion Designs and the paper is from My Minds Eye, 'Blush'. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'Chubby Chums'. This is actually an outline stamp, but I coloured the legs, beak and tail in with a black copic to make them stand out more.

Phew... I hope you are still with me. Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge 23 Feb - 7 Mar

Today sees the beginning of a new Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!  I love creating with these stamps and I can't wait until all my new CHA sets get here :)

Here is your inspiration photo for the challenge, another great pick from Kim.

So my inspiration came from the clock and I replicated those stripes for my background using my copics. This is a technique that Nicole from PTI used (second card down). The clock image is from Perpetual Bliss and the sentiment is actually a mix of words from the same set and Word Salad.

I hope you feel inspired and come and join us for this fun challenge.  If you don't have any Paper Smooches stamps, grab one of the free digi stamps here.

You can find all the details of the challenge on the blog, including the fabulous prizes Kim offers and while you are there, be sure to check out the other DT projects too :)

Cheers

Hello...

And welcome to another EAD Designs Blog Hop.

If you have come from Jessica's blog then you are on the right track. If you would like to start the hop from the beginning, go to the EAD Designs blogRemember to comment along the hop - there is free vinyl every week!

For my card today I used this cute bird cage stickerz and matched it with this gorgeous paper from My Minds Eye 'Blush'. These stickerz are so easy to use and the best thing is they are repositionable!  LOVE that.

I stamped a sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Pretty Peonies' and added a little rose.

Ok, it's time to hop along to Julie's blog and see what fabulous creation she has for us today :)

It's Sunday...

... which means it's time for a Jay Gee's Nook DT post :)

First up today we have this lovely, elegant one layer card from Angeline. I love the rich red teamed with white on kraft - all stamps are from Jane's Doodles 'Pretty Peonies' set.

If you find masculine cards hard to make, then look no further than Joy's wonderful blog for inspiration - she often makes fantastic masculine cards and this one is no exception. For the background she has used Hero Arts 'Newspaper Background' and the clock is from Hero Arts 'Special Time' set.

Isn't this card just so sweet! Iwona has really highlighted this adorable image with her amazing colouring and wonderful card design. The stamp is called 'Bluebirds Proposal' from Gorjuss.

CAS at its best describes Ange's awesome card! I love how she has layered this fun gnome from Paper Smooches 'Forest Whimsy' set. The fun speech bubble is a Die-namics die from MFT.

Like most of us, I have a nice collection of patterned paper that sits on my desk. Occasionally I look through it, I might even use a tiny bit to do some paper piecing, but the majority just sits. So when I saw the current challenge over at Lily Pad - to make a card that uses patterned paper - it was the perfect incentive to actually USE some of that paper that just sits.

The paper is from Basic Grey's 'Life of the Party' and the sentiment strip is from Purple Onion Designs. The sassy cat from Paper Smooches 'Party Posse' is coloured with distress inks.

And lastly, I would like to remind you about our current challenge - all the details are here :)

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Photo Friday Challenge

Carly has posted this weeks challenge and the theme is 'night'... I had to think about this one :) We live in suburbia, with a street light right outside our house. There is no moon at the moment and our 'city' (town) does not have much in the way of interesting 'night' lights.

But, after taking many, many photos, I did manage to capture some stars.

I am really enjoying seeing how different each persons interpretation of the theme is each week and a lot of the time I kick myself for not thinking of the idea, LOL.  And Carly's photos are always totally amazing - check them out.

EAD Designs Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the EAD Designs Blog Hop.

If you have arrived from Jessica's blog you are in the right spot - if not you can start at the beginning of the hop here. Remember to comment along the way - there is always some free vinyl to one lucky commenter!

For my card I combined two sentiments from the EAD/Paper Smooches co-branding Rub-ons - Thinking of You Sentiments. I just LOVE these, they are so easy to apply.

Your next stop along the way is the very talented Julie Ranae. Ok, I am off to see what the rest of the girls have been up to!

Sunday DT Post

Hello there.

The DT are back today with a wonderful range of cards to share - there is bound to be something to help inspire you today :)

Joy starts the ball rolling with this wonderful example of her fabulous colouring skills. The fun image is 'Cruisin Chloe' from Sparkle Creations - they have lots of fun images.

Angeline made a clever card using stamps from Paper Smooches - 'Friendly Flowers' and 'Pretty Phrases'. I love the heart shape in the middle, it is very effective :)

Iwona has gone for an elegant look with this fabulous card, which uses the 'Poppy' stamp from La Blanche. If you have not tried these silicone stamps, give them a go, they stamp beautifully.

Ange showcases Lawn Fawns cute 'Love'n Breakfast' set perfectly with a set of 3 adorable mini cards. These are just so fun!

For my card, I used the fun technique of inking up an embossing folder before running my card through it. I have done this before, but never thought about using my linen plate until I saw Laurie from SoapBox Creations do it - I loved the results.  The sheep is from Paper Smooches 'Party Posse' and the sentiment I made using Lawn Fawns 'Harold's ABCs'

Just a reminder about our current challenge - you can enter here.

Photo Friday Challenge

Hello

Time again for another entry into Carly's Photo Friday Challenge. This week our theme is love.

I immediately thought of holding hands - after 22 years of marriage, we still do this from time to time :)  I forced DH to stop what he was doing and come and pose with me (he was so happy to oblige, NOT!) :) We have this red wall in our house which I thought was the perfect symbolism for the theme.

I played around in Photoshop for quite a while - I wanted to have a black and white image but keep the red. I used 'replace colour', but it has made the red and shadows kind of grainy. Anyone know of an easier way?

Thanks for stopping by... why don't you grab your camera and join in :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge 9 - 22 Feb

Yay! It's time for a new Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge - starting today!

Kim has chosen a great photo for this challenge, although I must admit it took me a long time to come up with an idea - then it just hit me! Love when that happens :)

I tried to stick pretty close to the colours from the photo and the zig zag around the heart I repeated with the background paper and by happy coincidence it was on the bottom of the dress. This is the witch from Halloweenies - I masked off her hat and drew more hair. I also masked off the wart from her nose and coloured her with copics :)

The sentiment is a stickerz from EAD/Paper Smooches - Birthday Sentiments.

Why don't you join us, I would love to see how you use the inspiration. If you don't have any Paper Smooches stamps, grab one of the free digi stamps here.

You can find all the details of the challenge on the blog and check out the other DT projects too :)

Cheers

Call Me...

Hello and welcome to a new EAD Designs Colour Challenge.

Classic Black and White...

And the fun thing is, that EAD have these awesome co-ordinating Vintage Treasures Stickerz.

I kept my card very clean and simple and used a fantastic Rub-on for my sentiment from the Paper Smooches co-branding, called 'Thinking of You'. The little tab is washi tape.

Check out the EAD blog for the other Design Team girls amazing projects and join in the fun :)

You should have arrived from the lovely Jessica's blog - if not you can start at the beginning of the hop here. Remember to comment along the hop - there is a prize every week!

For my card I chose to use this cute little penguin - I actually stuck it onto a separate piece of card stock and then cut it out and mounted it on my card with foam dots.

Your next stop along the way is the very talented Julie Ranae. Ok, I am off to hop along with you and see what the rest of the girls have been up to!

Take care :)
