This weeks challenge is all about 'shoes' - you can check out all the details on Carly's blog, including the lovely photos by the other participants.
I found my sons work boots outside against the front of the house. I just loved the texture of the brick and the frayed and worn leather. I also think the paint splatters and scuff marks add interest to the photo.
Since I am using this challenge as a learning tool, I played around a bit in Photoshop and boosted the colours a bit - I would be invested to know which photo you prefer?
Why don't you grab your camera and join us!

I love this photo, Judith! I was loving the first photo, but then when I needed to choose a favourite, I think I like the second one best, for the extra texture and grittiness.
I'm not a photography expert... I love the 2nd photo. The 1st picture looks to me somewhat a little overexposure especially against the brick wall.
Great photo Judith:) I think I like the second one, the boots stand out a bit more! With a houseful of country boys I have about 20 pairs of boots at the back door - I'm sure they multiply:) So glad you are enjoying the challenges....must pop over for a look, hugs x x
Well two minds must think alike, I was going to photograph Darryl's shoes, but I think you beat me to it...LOL will have to have the thinking cap on now...you photo is fabulous, I love that you played around with Photoshop too..hugs
Great photo, but I honestly like the first one better. I think it gives more of an aged, well worn kind of look.
I definitely I like the first one better. The washed out look from the sun goes along with the worn, dusty look of the boots.
Keep 'em coming, Judith! I'm loving seeing all your gorgeous shots! :)
I like the first one better. The wiped out color feel makes it more interesting.
Great photos! I like the first one better, though. The faded colours emphasize the fact that these boots have seen a lot of work. For me, I think that the brighter brick colour of the second photo takes away from the 'tired' look of the boots.
I like the first one better ... seems to bring out the warn texture of the boots more ... love the picture ... it would be great on a card.
Great shots! Can't decide which one I like better!
Great subject again Judith, your so creative with a camera too :)
The second photo shows so much more texture in the boots...definitely my fave :)

I like the 2nd picture the best. It shows the subject in a more vivid content. I think the boots stand out as the hard wear they are! Paint, scuffs, and rips.

Fabulous Judith. I love the first one.... really love the soft colours of the bricks. I too took a photo of my son's shoes...or rather his jandals. Will be posting later this week.
What a story these photos could tell! I love them both. Great shots.

I like the first one ;o) But they are both great photots. thanks for sharing the story about these shoes, I think it is a great idea leave them outside after a day working ...
Love this photo Judith, the second of the two is the one that grabs my attention the most! Who would have thought a pair of old boots could look so good!:)
Great photo! I prefer the second pic.
