One of my goals this year is to improve my photography skills... I have a very nice camera but don't know how to use it other than the basic point and shoot! So when one of my favourite bloggers Carly Robertson introduced a new photo challenge I decided to jump on board. You can find all the details of the challenge here. Carly takes the most beautiful photos and I am hoping to learn some tips from her.
The challenge is called 'Photo Friday Challenge', the idea being that each Friday (you actually have a week) you take a photo based on that weeks theme. Unfortunately for me, this first theme was a self portrait. Now, I know I am not alone in hating my photo being taken, but this was a real struggle to get anything that I felt remotely comfortable sharing... and I am sharing only to record my personal growth LOL. It has taken me 3 days and literally a 100 photos to get this.

Judith, you should have your photo taken more often, you're gorgeous! And now I can put a face to the name. Did you see my self-portrait from this past week? Take a look at http://happysnapmichelle.blogspot.com/2012/01/day-6-6-january-2012.html :-)
What Michelle wrote! You're a gorgeous lady, and I certainly wouldn't shy off the camera if I had a face like yours :)
Good luck! xo
Good for you! I'm looking forward to seeing all your upcoming pics. Perhaps I should be joining this journey too!
super gorgeous pic!
Kudos to you for attempting this and taking a gorgeous photo!
What a lovely, friendly face to put to the name we now have!! Good work on learning the ins and outs of your camera...they'll do you well in the future. I could probably do with a refresher these days, but think I remember much of what I learnt in my photography courses a few years ago. Practice, practice, practice is my recommendation - what you learn then becomes second nature. :)
What a fabulous photo!
Yay Judith!! I am so excited you're playing along and you look absolutely gorgeous!!!! Big hugs, Carly :)
So that is how beautiful your are!!! This portrait is fabulous Judith!
Great start with your "Selfie" - I think you did a wonderful job.
Great self portrait (and on a timer too)! Good luck learning all those camera features (I want one that washes the dishes)!
Self portraits are so hard.... especially if your camera shy, but you nailed this task Judith and it's so good to put a pretty face to a name :)

You are beautiful, Judith! The lighting is just right and I love the palm leaves in the background. So great for a black and white photo!
