WOW!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am very excited today. I just won the City Crafter Challenge #31 with this card! Amazing! Totally unexpected.

Anyway, I have a simple Christmas card to share with you today.

I stamped the background with Hero Arts music stamp in versamark ink - it does not show up as well as I hoped in the photo. Then I attached a punched border to both sides in purple cardstock. The ornament is a PTI stamp. I embossed the pattern in white and then coloured with dusty concord distress ink and added my favorite bakers twine. Love this stuff! The sentiment is from A Muse (which I also embossed in white).

Well, I'm off to unwind and watch some TV. Take care.

Happy Sunday

Hello. I am happy to be sharing our DT cards with you this morning. I am not sure how they do it, but each week Ange and Joy make the most amazing cards!

(All product mentioned can be found in the store).

Today Ange has created a little scene using Lawn Fawn's 'Cozy Christmas' set. The detail in this card is amazing - the wooden floor, the little wooden picture frame, the damask wallpaper. So clever!

Joy has used Inchies on her card today and it looks fantastic! It is amazing what you can do with these little squares and just between you and me, I think Joy has now been converted to the 'Inchie way' :).

My son will be graduating from TAFE in a couple of weeks, so I decided to make a couple of graduation cards.

On this card I inked up Hero Arts 'Graph Background' stamp, wiped patches of ink off the stamp and then stamped straight onto the card base, giving it a more distressed look. On the black strip I stamped and embossed the houndstooth pattern from Practicing Creativity's 'Retro Christmas Backgrounds'. The graduation cap is from Lawn Fawn's 'Hats Off to You' set.

For my second card I used my Label No. 8 nesties die to cut out the middle portion of the cardstock. I then very lightly stamped with Hero Arts 'Old Letter Writing' in antique linen distress ink. The graduation cap and sentiment are both from Lawn Fawn's 'Hats Off to You' and I added some twine.

Remember, you still have time to enter our challenge here.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

A Quick Post

Hello again!

This is just a quick little Christmas card I made to share.

I used my new Martha Stewart punch for the border, the cute little owl is from Hero Arts, the santa hat and sentiment are from A Muse and the pine branch is from Victorine Originals.

I am entering this in the Color Throwdown #119 Challenge. I don't have the exact colours, these are close as I could get :)

Also, just a little reminder that you still have a week left to enter our challenge - (see the link on my sidebar).

See you tomorrow for the DT post.

Hello. I am so excited today!

Many of you know or have heard about the fabulously talented Jane from 'Jane's Doodles'.

What you may not know is that Jane recently decided to have her designs made into clear stamps. Yay!

Here comes the really exciting news... Jay Gee's Nook is now stocking Jane's Doodles first ever clear stamp set - Jane's Bakery. (insert happy dance!)

These stamps are absolutely fabulous quality - I know you will love them. They stamp like a dream.

Oh... here is a little sneak peak at something else from Jane that is on its way!

Having Fun

Hello. Hope you have all had a wonderful day.

I decided to have a little play in my craft room last night and had some fun trying a different style to what I usually go for. I am actually pretty pleased with how this card turned out.

I combined a few challenges for my inspiration.

I picked the main colour from the current Shabby Tea Room Challenge - the actual colour of the cupcakes (before being iced). I also used the theme, 'What are you thankful for' - which is the love of my family; my husband. The challenge at City Crafter Challenge #31 is to use Little Children.

I am also entering it into Crafty Cardmakers - spotlight on dry embossing and Simon Says Stamp & Show - Whatever Makes you Happy.

Phew!

Thanks for stopping by.

Wee Memories Challenge #31

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by today. I have a card to share that I made for Wee Memories Challenge #31, which is to use patterned paper.

The patterned paper I used is from Stampin Up (had it for ages) and I stamped over it using Hero Arts graph background stamp - it is hard to see in the photo but I love the subtle detail it adds in real life. Another item I have had forever is the Martha Stewart flower. I glued this to a scrap of cardstock and cut it out as it was just a sticker and too flimsy for what I wanted. The colour was more pink than red so I sponged Fired Brick distress ink over the top. Added a sentiment from A Muse, some stitching and a border from PTI cut from felt.

Until next time...

Todays DT Post

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and getting plenty of time to be crafty.

We have had some fabulous entries in our 1st challenge. If you have not played yet there is still plenty of time, and we would love it if you joined in. Just click on the inspiration photo below to go to the original post and link your card.

Now, onto the amazing samples the DT have made! I tell you, these girls ROCK IT every week.

Joy this week has made a super cute Christmas card, combing two sets from Lawn Fawn - 'Bows and Holly' and 'Frosties". Isn't it adorable!

Ange has made an elegant Thank You card using inchies. These inchies come pre-cut and are made of high quality matboard. The CAS style of the card really allows the inchies to be the focal point. Love it! (Visit Ange's blog to see some other fabulous projects she made this week)

I too used inchies for my card this week. The pine branch is a stamp from Victorine Originals, the sentiment is Waltzingmouse and the images on the inchies are from Elzybells and Practicing Creativity.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks samples and that we have inspired you in some way. Have a lovely day/evening.

Pals Paper Arts

Hello. I was doing some blog surfing this morning and came across Pals Paper Arts Challenge #68 with this lovely inspiration photo.

Love the rich colours of this - purple and gold. And I got to ink up my new Hero Arts stamps!

I stamped the trees with VersaMark onto some purple cardstock and then embossed with gold embossing powder. Next I stamped the music background and dusty concord distress ink on top and used the same ink to distress the edges. I added some ribbon and a little tag - the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps.

Also wanted to let you know that Jay Gee's Nook is sponsoring this fortnights challenge over at The Lollipop Ladies. Make a project and join in.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend.

Casing My DT!

Hello all. I hope you are all having a lovely start to your week.

I just love A Muse gingham paper and when I saw Joy's card (see DT card 2 posts down) I just had to case it! Heres my card.

I paper pieced the Hero Arts snowman and placed him on the A Muse oval which I had stamped with Versamark ink. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse and I finished the card with a die cut snowflake and a rhinestone. Very simple little card :)

Thanks for dropping by.

DT Post

Welcome to our Sunday DT post! I hope you are all having a great weekend.

I have some fabulous cards to share with you today, so lets get straight into it :)

(Remember to check out the DT's blogs for more details on their cards)

Ange has made this lovely Christmas card using Practicing Creativity's Retro Christmas set. And that large ornament is made with Japanese Masking Tape - brilliant!

This super cute card Joy made again uses a Practicing Creativity's set, The Whole Cycle. Joy also used some yummy A Muse gingham paper (love this) and bakers twine.

My card today is different to what I usually do - it was a special order for a friends daughter (I think she likes pink LOL)

For my main image I used Lawn Fawn's Bake Me A Cake set and I added glossy accents to the icing to give it a nice shine. The banner was made with the Die-namics die, 'Banner Day Die' from My Favorite Things. Lace from Fancy Pants, letters are American Craft velvet thickers, scrunched seam binding and bakers twine finish it off.

I am entering this card in the Wee Memories Challenge #30. It is Jenny's one year blog birthday - Happy Blog Birthday Jenny!
Remember to enter our monthly challenge - the link can be found on the sidebar. We have had some amazing entries already and would love it if you joined us.

Merry & Bright

Hello everyone. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

I finally found some time to make a card today, Yay! My card was inspired by the super talented Julie Ebersole. She has been doing a challenge on her blog with Jennifer McGuire using A Muse stamps. You can see her card here.

I used some patterned paper for the background and then cut some white cardstock to resemble snow. I drew 'hill' lines with a copic marker and then added glitter. The clouds I cut out with PTI's cloud die using their felt. The Santa is an A Muse stamp that I paper pieced and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I am entering this card in the ABC Christmas Challenge, W for Winter Wonderland - you have to use a large expanse of white.

Hope you will pop by tomorrow to see what goodies the DT team have for you.

Jay Gee

P.S. In store today are Fiskars Compact Stamp Press. These are fabulous to use!
