Thank you to all those people that left comments on my last post, I really appreciate it (even if you weren't able to answer all my questions :))
I love using distress inks on my cards, but I have never really created a background with them. Aside from the sentiment stamp, (and card stock), everything else on this card is distress inks.
I printed a city scape out on my computer, cut out the negative and used it as a mask - using my blending tool and Black Soot I inked in the buildings. I then took the mask away and using a number of different inks, made the sunset. I deliberately let the black buildings smudge a little - I like the look.
It's good to play around with different products and techniques - I had fun!
